SANTA CLARA'S QUESTION OF VALUE$

Santa Clara's City Charter explicitly instructs our Mayor: "Political leadership shall be concerned with the general development of the community and the general level of City services and activity programs." Voters will not be gulled into allowing their funds to be misappropriated for a football stadium. Where investors expect profits, taxpayers expect services.

Yet our Mayor has been quoted (S.F. Chron, 6 Jun 2009), "We're in it for the money", putting a public face on secret meetings with the 49ers corporation. She says our City will partner with the investors.

Sure! And chickens will partner with wolves.
